New Strategic Place Partnership for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough
Homes England and Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA) have formalised a Strategic Place Partnership (SPP) to continue work on housing and regeneration.
CPCA and the Agency will work together to bring more investment to the region. The work will start by drawing up a shared plan to accelerate local housing, regeneration and growth proposals.
Over the next eight weeks, Homes England will invest over £100,000 alongside existing government funding to accelerate plans to develop Peterborough Station Quarter.

Funding to boost neighbourhood policing
The government has announced £200 million to transform neighbourhood policing.
Forces across England and Wales will now receive increased resources to begin their recruitment to boost neighbourhood policing teams.
The funding is double December's provisional £100 million commitment and is aimed at strengthening local crime prevention and community safety.
Within its plan for change, one of the government's key pledges is that every neighbourhood will have a named, contactable officer.

Scottish Government calls for closer links to Europe to reduce energy bills
The Scottish Government has called for closer co-operation with Europe to help to reduce energy bills and boost investment.
Ahead of UK government talks with the EU, a report has been published by the Scottish Government highlighting opportunities to more closely align with the EU on energy matters.
The opportunities include accelerating the adoption of more efficient UK-EU electricity trading arrangements to bring down energy costs for consumers and linking the UK and EU Emissions Trading Schemes (ETS) to help reduce costs and barriers to trade.
