Scotland is set to install its first floating solar panels later this year as part of efforts to generate renewable energy and reduce carbon emissions.
First minister Humza Yousaf has toured the manufacturing facility of Nova Innovation in Leith where the panels are being tested before their launch.
The company installed the world’s first offshore tidal turbine array in Shetland in 2016 and since then has received £6.4 million from the Scottish National Investment Bank to boost production of innovative renewable energy generators.

Road safety improvements will be made to 27 of the most high-risk roads in England in an attempt to prevent fatal and serious injuries.
It is anticipated that the investment will will prevent over 750 fatal and serious injuries over the next 20 years, with £420 million benefit to society.
The funding comes from the third round of the Safer Roads Fund, through which 27 new schemes will be delivered.

People with 4G and 5G mobile phones will receive a message on the Home Screen of their phone, along with sound and vibration.

The Geospatial Commission has launched a digital underground map, showing pipes and cables. The map is aimed at supporting economic growth, improving safety and reducing delays.
It is anticipated that the National Underground Asset Register (NUAR) will deliver £350 million per year of economic growth through increased efficiency, reduced asset strikes and reduced disruptions for citizens and businesses.
It is hoped the new map will revolutionise the way pipes and cables are installed, maintained, operated and repaired.

Peter Murrell, husband of former Scottish first minister Nicola Sturgeon has been arrested in an investigation into the finances of the Scottish National Party (SNP).
The 58-year-old was taken into custody on Wednesday morning and is being questioned by Police Scotland detectives.
Searches are also being carried out at a number of addresses, inlcuding the couple's home and SNP headquarters.
Murrell has since been released without charge, pending further investigation.

The Department for Transport has announced that the £2 bus fare cap has been extended until the end of June.
£75 million has been set aside to provide discounted bus travel for another three months across more than 5,000 routes.
The scheme is being promoted with the tagline 'Hop Around for £2'.
The programme began in January and has seen an increase in passenger numbers. The extension is expected to take 4 million cars of the road.

The Welsh Government has announced that free school meal provision will continue to be available to children from lower income families for the Easter and Whitsun school holidays.
The funding for this comes for an agreement between the Welsh Government and Plaid Cymru.
Individual local authorities will decide how to administer the provision either by creating lunches or providing vouchers or direct payments.
Funding will be provided until the end of May half term holiday, including all bank holidays during this period.

The government has announced that public organisations will be able to apply for a portrait of the King. The portraits will be fully funded by the government as part of a scheme to celebrate the new reign.
Those eligible include councils, courts, schools, police forces and fire and rescue services.
