Leeds is to install a smart traffic tool, designed by VivaCity, which enables junctions to operate more efficiently by responding to real-time demand.
Smart signal controls with artificial intelligence for detecting traffic will be installed at 25 sites in the city.
The sensors can detect cyclists approaching a crossing from up to 70 metres away and provide a green signal for their arrival.
