MoD invests in EV Charging
The Defence Support organisation have launched the first of three hydrogen-fuelled charging facilities to charge Front-Line Command electric fleet vehicles.
The first hydrogen power unit (HPU) has been installed at RAF Leeming, with others set to follow at the Navy’s HMNB DEVONPORT and the Army’s Merville Barracks, Colchester.
The Ministry of Defence is aiming for a zero-emissions fleet by the end of December 2027.

The UK Space Agency is to use satellite data services to gather information on environmental risks and how to mitigate them.
Ten projects are to use Earth observation tools, satellite tracking and data on population demographics, supported by Artificial Intelligence (AI), to produce forecasts and models.

Inverclyde to provide free school meals for all primary pupils
Inverclyde Council is to become the first area in Scotland to introduce free school meals for all primary school pupils.
From the beginning of the 2023/24 school year, all children in P1-7 which be able to access a health lunch, without having to pay.
Currently, all pupils up to and including primary fives are entitled to free school meals. From next year, P6 and P7 pupils will also benefit.

Social landlords urged to allow childminders to work from home
Children and families minister Claire Coutinho has written to housing associations, developers and landlords urging them to provide better support to childminders and allow them to work from their rented properties.
Childminders often face clauses in their contracts which prevent them from working from home.
Coutinho said: "We have outstanding, high quality childminders, offering flexible and accessible childcare in a home-like environment.
