The government has announced plans to speed up connections and increase capacity on the electricity grid, as well as £960 million of investment in green industries.
It is hoped that the new measures will support economic growth and highlight the UK as one of the best countries in the world to invest in renewables.

Low Carbon Accelerator programmes in London have helped save an estimated 157GWh since 2016.
The schemes are set to save more than 50,000 tonnes of carbon in 2024 - the equivalent of nearly 85,000 flights from London to New York.
The city has a goal to be net zero by 2030 and Low Carbon Accelerator programmes are supporting schools, councils and the NHS to address both the climate and cost of living emergencies by making their buildings more energy efficient.

Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has unveiled his Autumn Budget in the House of Commons.
He has announced that benefits will rise by 6.7 per cent, which was the inflation rate in September. The increase will apply to working-age benefits such as means-tested benefits such as Universal Credit, and disability benefits.
Local Housing Allowance will increase to the 30th percentile of local market rates, it is anticipated that this will give 1.6 million households an average of £800 of support next year.

Six projects in Scotland have been awarded grants from round three of the Levelling Up Fund.
Almost £122 million has been awarded to projects in Moray, North and South Ayrshire, South Lanarkshire, Glasgow, Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish borders to upgrade town centres, high streets and local transport.
£1 billion has been awarded to 55 projects around the UK in round three.

Seven projects in Wales have been awarded a share of £111 million.
It is hoped that the money will drive economic growth and spread equality to historically overlooked areas, restoring pride in the places people live.
Neath Port Talbot has been awarded £27 million, for two successful bids. £15 million will be used to regenerate Port Talbot town centre with improvements to Civic Square, the refurbishment of Princess Royal Theatre and improvements to green space at Riverside.

A new review has found that some public servants are spending a day a week on admin tasks.
It is hoped that some of the improvements being considered could free up over 38 million police hours each year – almost 750,000 hours every week - for police officers to perform frontline duties and cut a teacher’s workload by up to five hours a week.

A new Investment Zone has been launched in West Yorkshire, focussing on Huddersfield, Bradford and Leeds.
It is hoped the UK's third Investment Zone will create more than 2,500 new jobs over five years across the region and unlock over £220 million of investment.
The Chancellor has also announced that the Investment Zones programme in England will be extended from five to 10 years, with the envelope of government funding and tax reliefs on offer now doubled to £160 million.

Transport secretary Mark Harper has announced the allocations for the biggest-ever road resurfacing programme to improve local roads.
£8.3 billion of funding, redirected from the cancelled leg of HS2, is enough to resurface over 5,000 miles of road across the country over the next 11 years.
Local highway authorities across England will receive £150 million this financial year, followed by a further £150 million for 2024/2025, with the rest of the funding allocated through to 2034.

Ten UK regions are set to receive a share of £36 million aimed at expediting innovation driven by 5G technology.
Local areas across the UK will be able to boost digital connectivity and adopt advanced wireless technologies, such as smart systems to reduce congestion and portable 5G networks to enable super-fast live broadcast from remote locations.
