Zac Goldsmith has lost his role as environment minister.
The change means he will no longer attend cabinet.
He is expected to keep his role at the Foreign Office as minister of state for the Pacific and international environment.
Downing Street had said the reshuffle was on pause during the period of national mourning.
Goldsmith is a close friend of Boris Johnson.

According to reports, the Treasury is considering removing the cap on bankers' bonuses.
The change would be part of a post-Brexit shake-up of City rules and an attempt to make London more attractive for global banks.
The EU bonus rules cap bonuses at two times an employee's salary.
City bosses have criticised the cap as they say it leads to higher base pay, which increases a bank's fixed costs.
Though others have argued that uncapped bonuses lead to excessive risk taking of the kind that led to the 2008 financial crisis.

Margaret Ferrier, who took a train knowing she had Covid has been sentenced to 270 hours of community service.
In September 2020, she spoke in parliament whilst waiting for the results of a test - she then took the train to Glasgow after testing positive.
She also went to church in Glasgow and gave a reading and went to a bar whilst awaiting the results.
The rules at the time stated that she should have isolated for two weeks.
She previously pleaded guilty to culpably and recklessly exposing the public to the virus.

The government has announced that benefits due to be paid on Monday 19 September, will be early ahead of the state funeral and bank holiday on Monday.
Instead, benefits and credits will be paid on Friday 16 September.

Following a government amendment to the Levelling Up Bill, councils will have more freedom to decide how to spend funds from the infrastructure levy.
Last week, Marcus Jones, who was planning minister at the time, introduced a clause that means levy funds can be spent on "non-infrastructure matters" such as improving local services.
He said: "We expect to capture more value from developments because we will be capturing the value of the uplift of the finished product."

The prime minister has set out a new Energy Price Guarantee, with the aim of supporting people and business with their energy bills.
It means the typical UK household will now pay up to an average of £2,500 a year on their energy bill for the next two years.
The cap is automatic and applies to all households.
Based on current energy prices, this will save the average household around £1,000 a year.
