Essex County Council has secured over £9 million to tackle congestion and improve key routes in Essex.
£4.09 million has been promised by the Department for Transport towards a £10 million scheme to upgrade Junction 8 on the M11, helping to improve journeys for commuters and holidaymakers using the M11, A120 and nearby London Stansted Airport. The improvement also helps to support the local plans in the area.
It is being part-funded by the South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SELEP) and the Greater Cambridgeshire and Peterborough LEP as well as London Stansted Airport.

The TUC found that the average wages of those with a one-year-old child in England rose by 12 per cent in cash terms between 2008 and 2016, with the cost of childcare rising by 48 per cent over the same period.

Transport Secretary Chris Grayling has announced the £345.3 million funding package to improve local roads and public transport.
£244 million of the funding will cover a huge range of projects across the UK, including: the delivery of contactless payment options across Nottingham’s bus and tram network; creating a new link for buses in Plymouth providing direct access to Derriford hospital; and improvements on the A66 in Darlington which will help unlock 2,600 houses and 4,300 jobs by improving travel connections.
