UK’s first citizens assembly to address climate change
Oxford City Council is to be the first UK local authority to establish a citizens assembly to help address the issue of climate change.
There have been several warnings recently that the current global target of 80 per cent cut in carbon emissions by 2050 is not enough to avert catastrophic temperature change.

Scotland aims to reduce food waste by 2025
The Scottish Government and Zero Waste Scotland have unveiled ambitious plans to help reduce Scotland’s food waste by one third by 2025.
Introducing the new Food Waste Reduction Action Plan (FWRAP), the pledge highlights the need for a collaborative effort across all sectors to tackle food waste and sets out actions to deliver on Scotland’s target.
