The prime minister has announced an £88 million package to support youth clubs and schools to offer more activities, with £22.5 million specifically to go towards after-school clubs.

The government has announced £15 million to go to 37 local heritage sites.
The funding will be used to support repair works and conservation of heritage buildings at risk.
The Heritage at Risk Fund has prioritised projects that will restore heritage sites serving disadvantaged communities and which demonstrate strong local benefits.
The fund is part of the £270 million Arts Everywhere Fund.

Greater Manchester Combined Authority’s Foundational Economy Innovation Fund has awarded £275,000 to a range of projects aiming to spark innovation in Greater Manchester’s 'foundational economy'.
25 businesses have been awarded grants of up to £11,000.
The 'foundational economy', or the 'everyday economy' refers to the parts of the economy people depend on for their daily needs, including the adult social care, early education and childcare, retail, and leisure and hospitality sectors.

The Scottish Government has launched a fund for pilot projects to help people to stay in their homes.
Launched by Housing Secretary Màiri McAllan, the £4 million fund will support organisations to pilot new 'ask and act' measures.
As part of the Housing (Scotland) Bill currently being considered by the Scottish Parliament, the duties will require bodies such as health boards, the police and prison service to take reasonable steps to prevent homelessness.

8000 new home have been started via the Mayor of London's Land Fund. This is five years ahead of schedule.
The Land Fund was established by Sadiq Khan in 2017 to be more direct and interventionist in tackling London’s housing crisis.
The fund comprises of over £736 million and includes £486m provided from the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government.

The Welsh Government is providing an additional £17 million to help local authorities deliver regeneration projects that will transform town and city centres across Wales.
The funding boost will increase the Transforming Towns budget for 2025-26 from £40 million to £57 million to support more projects.
It is hoped the investment will create jobs, boost economic activity and breathe new life into high streets and town centres.

The Scottish Government has opened applications for the 2025–26 Voluntary Sector Development Fund (VSDF), which helps employers cover the cost of essential qualifications for social care staff.
The money will be used to support workers in gaining the qualifications they need for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
Around £780,000 is available for the Fund in 2025-26, and each organisation can apply for a maximum of £24,000.
Applications will close ay 5pm on Friday 5 September.

A new Internship Scheme has been launched to get more working class students into the Civil Service.
The Summer Internship Programme will give talented undergraduates from lower socio-economic backgrounds the opportunity to see what a career in the Civil Service is like. 
At the moment, applicants from lower socio economic backgrounds are less likely to get a place on the Fast Stream.
