Great British Energy and the government have published the Local Power Plan to help support locally-owned clean energy generation projects such as solar on community buildings like libraries, leisure centres and miners’ welfare clubs.
The plan is backed by up to £1 billion of funding.

The Mayor of London has confirmed £1.5 billion to accelerate affordable and social housing across the city.
The new City Hall Developer Investment Fund (CHDIF) is making £1.5 billion available in very low-cost interest loans for housing associations.
City Hall says that housebuilding is still impacted by "the disastrous legacy of the previous government, high interest rates, the rising cost of construction materials, the impact of the pandemic and Brexit and Building Safety Regulator delays".

The government has announced an extra £440 million to be made available to councils through the Final Local Government Finance Settlement.
Around £78 billion is being made available for councils across England through the fund, along with a top-up to the Recovery Grant for areas hit hardest by historic cuts.
A new evidence-based approach will be used that recognises local need and the true costs of providing services in deprived areas.

Grants have been awarded from the Social Housing Net Zero Heat Fund have been awarded to make homes warmer and cleaner to heat.
More than £19 million has been allocated from the latest funding round, shared been 27 projects. 
2,300 homes are set to benefit from improvements such as the installation of external and cavity wall insulation, double or triple glazing, individual and communal heat pumps, solar PV and battery storage.

Communities have been asked to share their views on local government reorganisation.
52 submissions have already been received from local leaders in 14 areas including Devon, Derbyshire, and Kent.
The plans have now been put forward for feedback from local people, organisations, and businesses. The consultation will run until 25 March 2026.
Minister of State for Local Government and Homelessness, Alison McGovern said: "Unitary councils provide clarity for residents and are more effective.

The government has announced £74 million for clean energy updates for hospitals and military sites.
The money will be split between 82 NHS Trusts, eight military sites and one prison.
The funding can be spent on adopting clean energy technologies and improving energy efficiency.
It is anticipated that the money will save 190 NHS sites £30 million a year on energy bills. Meanwhile, military sites are expected to make annual energy savings worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.

A regeneration body has been launched to boost jobs, homes and infrastructure across Greater Cambridge.
The development corporation has been set up to boost economic growth across the Oxford to Cambridge corridor.   
The body will focus on speeding up major development, assembling land, regenerating key sites and bringing in new investment.

40 neighbourhoods have joined the government's Pride in Place programme.
Local people in these areas will get the power to decide how up to £20 million is invested in their local area.
A new package worth up to £800 million will build on the success of the £5 billion Pride in Place programme that is already in place.
In Ramsgate, £500,00 was used to secure the freehold of the town’s last remaining youth centre and in Elgin, Scotland,  £1 million has been set aside to build a brand-new regional athletics hub.
