Council pension schemes could fall in value
Following the news that the UK has voted to leave the EU, council leaders have warned that the Local Government Pension Scheme could fall in value.
The Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA) claimed that a prolonged and continual collapse of the stock market could cause ‘huge’ problems for the pension scheme.

A report has called on local government to make land available for groups who desire to establish cohousing communities.
Researchers for the UK Cohousing Network believe that cohousing would prove beneficial for groups if planning, financial and development support was more widely adopted.
The report questions how social and private developers could integrate cohousing into mainstream housing developments while encouraging local authorities to make urban land cheaply available for such a project.

Polls opened at 07:00 in the referendum on whether the UK should remain a member of the European Union or leave.
In what is only the third nationwide referendum in UK political history, an estimated record number 46,499,537 people are registered to take part in the vote.
Polls close at 22:00 tonight.
