Getting rid of the nation’s invasive weeds

As the largest specialist Japanese knotweed contractor in the UK with offices in London, Manchester and Southampton, Japanese Knotweed Ltd has been getting rid of knotweed for commercial businesses since 2010. We offer free identification, survey reporting, treatment management plans backed by an insurance guarantee, and a range of excavation options. We are a registered, approved PCA contractor complying with all industry standards including being BASIS registered and members of the Amenity Forum.

Japanese knotweed is a highly invasive plant that needs to be controlled or removed to stop its spread. Knotweed can cause significant damage to structures and make buying and selling property more difficult. Additionally, legal issues can occur if knotweed is not dealt with or disposed of in the right way.

A herbicide treatment plan offers a long-term cost effective solution for knotweed control, however excavation will completely remove Japanese knotweed and is often chosen to enable a property sale or change of land use and to avoid costly delays to building projects. We often get asked to provide a Watching Brief service for clients wishing to use their own teams and equipment.

We are not just knotweed!
Through our sister brand Environment Controls our expert teams provide services for the control or removal of all invasive weeds including Giant hogweed, Himalayan balsam and Horsetail, as well as aquatic weeds such as Floating pennywort, Azolla and Skunk cabbage. Our fully qualified surveyors are trained to identify any land or aquatic plant.

Amenity weed management
Weed growth on public highways, residential areas, footpaths and open spaces is unsightly and can cause major issues for Local Authorities, Housing Associations, and Property and Facilities management companies. Our specialist services are highly effective at keeping amenity areas clear of weeds. We focus on Integrated Weed Management (IWM) so we can guarantee cost savings through environmentally sustainable options. As an example, we reduced costs for one City Council by using 60% less herbicide.

Excavating Asbestos contaminated ground
Asbestos is commonly found on construction sites, and when this happens all works come to an immediate halt. We are equipped and licensed to excavate and remove Asbestos contaminated ground. By undertaking qualitative and quantitative sampling and testing we can determine the type of Asbestos contamination present, and safely eradicate it, leaving the site fit for its intended purpose.
