Working with operator Believ, Suffolk County Council is set to install around 6,000 new public electric vechile (EV) chargepoints across the county, with work to start this coming summer.
A survey last year allowed residents to suggest locations to deliver the new chargepoints, and thousands are to be installed across demanded areas as well as on residential streets. The council has additionally worked with district and borough councils and communities to identify further suitable sites.

According to recently published figures, Scotland’s known public sector procurement spend in 2022-23 delivered an estimated 120,000 full-time equivalent jobs and £7.5 billion to Scottish GDP.

The government has announced plans to examine every quango across government with a view to close, merge or bring functions back into departments if continued existence cannot be justified.
The review has been commissioned by the Cabinet Office, at the request of the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster. It is part of plans to 're-wire' Whitehall and create a more productive and agile state.
The news follows the announcement that NHS England will be brought back into the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC).

The government is investing £37.8 million in greener, better buses and will deliver 319 new zero emission buses.
For each pound of government funding, there is set to be at least £3 of private investment.
The funding has been distributed across 12 successful local authorities across England, following bids to expand their zero emission bus fleets, and will see hundreds of new buses reach community by spring 2027.
