Mayor of London Sadiq Khan is launching a new £10 million fund to increase London councils' housing and planning teams.

The rules preventing people found guilty of serious crimes from serving on local councils will be strengthened.

There are 15,800 babies under the age of one considered to be vulnerable or highly vulnerable and at risk of harm, but still living at home.

12 councils and 31 housing associations will receive funding for the removal and replacement of unsafe cladding from 135 buildings.

Local authorities in England will receive a share of a £240 million fund to help local areas ease winter pressures on the NHS.
Councils have been allocated the funding based on the adult social care relative needs formula and could pay for home care packages to help patients get out of hospital quicker, reablement packages, which support workers to help patients carry out everyday tasks and regain mobility and confidence, or home adaptations, including new facilities for personal care, such as adapting a shower room if a patient has limited movement.
