The government has announced that thousands of civil servant roles are to be relocated to 13 locations across the UK to develop and deliver policy closer to communities.
As a result, more senior and policy roles will be based outside of London.
The plans will see officials working closely with frontline workers, facilitating greater understanding of the real issues facing local services and people, and how central government policy can support them.

The government-developed AI tool Humphrey has been used for the first time to review public responses to a consultation.
The AI tool 'Consult' was first used on a live consultation by the Scottish Government when it was seeking views on how to regulate non-surgical cosmetic procedures.
Consult was built by the UK government as part of the Humphrey suite. It is now set to be used across departments in a bid to cut down the millions of pounds spent on the current process, which often includes outsourcing analysis to contractors.

Scottish Communities are now able to apply for new funding for clean community energy.
The funding will target local clean energy projects, such as community-led onshore wind, solar on rooftops and hydropower in rivers.
The expanded Scottish Government fund, which includes £4 million from Great British Energy, is part of the Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES).
