Design bus services for young people, urges watchdog
Transport Focus has published a new guide to help bus operators and local authorities make travelling by bus a better choice for young people.
The independent watchdog says that bus operators can best secure their future by serving young passengers better, with young people remaining the least satisfied group of passengers. This is despite overall satisfaction for young bus passengers, those deemed between the ages of 16 and 18, having risen to 80 per cent.

The Bristol Waste Company has revealed its new efficient, sustainable, safer and reliable fleet of recycling vehicles.
Capable of carrying more recycling, reducing the number of trips they need to make back to the depot to unload, and in turn, their carbon footprint, the vehicles will also ease congestion on the city’s streets thanks to an onboard compactor which can crush the waste while travelling.

'Attenborough effect' inspires beach clean-ups
Keep Britain Tidy has announced the winners of 71 Blue Flags and 137 Seaside Awards - an increase of 18 beaches on 2018.
The environmental charity has hailed the ‘Attenborough effect’ for an increase in awards for being safe and clean, following survey results highlighting that nature documentaries fronted by Sir David Attenborough had encouraged people to personally clear up discarded litter.
