National Grid has revealed that clean energy has nudged ahead of coal and gas in Britain.
For the first time since the Industrial Revolution, Britain is obtaining more power from zero-carbon sources than fossil fuels, with the milestone passed for the first five months of 2019.
The transformation, 48 per cent of generation for clean energy against 47 per cent for coal and gas, reflects the precipitous decline of coal energy, and a boom from wind and solar.

Electric minibus provides accessible transport in Kent
Kent County Council has introduced an electric minibus to provide accessible transport services for disabled and vulnerable people.
The nine-seater wheelchair-accessible Renault Master Z.E. will be operated by Compaid, the leading charity providing services to disabled people in the South East of England. It and has been adapted for up to two wheelchair users by approved Renault Trucks converter, Minibus Options Limited of Whaley Bridge.

Community Sentence Treatment pilots to be rolled out
Vulnerable offenders in the criminal justice system will be offered targeted treatment under new plans to further reduce re-offending.
The Ministry of Justice has announced that successful Community Sentence Treatment pilots are to be rolled out to nine more courts in two new areas, meaning that more offenders will be diverted towards community sentences where they will receive treatment for mental health, drug or alcohol issues, often deemed to be the root cause of offending behaviour.
