Scottish deputy first minister, John Swinney has warned against a return to austerity ahead of the UK government's Autumn Statement.
He called for an alternative to austerity to avoid prolonging the expected recession.
Swinney also set out other urgent priorities including inflationary increases to the 2022-23 budgets for the devolved governments, increasing social security benefits in line with the new financial year, retaining the triple lock on pensions and introducing an enhanced windfall tax.

A Grenfell Tower site community online meeting was held on 1 November, which included updated on activity at the site including maintenance and safety works.
The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) has published an update and shared a video of the meeting online. The video is 20 minutes long.
The meeting was led by Matt Hogan, head of site management, DLUHC and Steve Jones, DUK, principal contractor for the Grenfell Tower site.

3,000 hectares of the Lake District is to become a National Nature Reserve.
The new National Nature Reserve is being created in Ennerdale, West Cumbria by Natural England.
It is set to be the largest nature reserve in the county and the ninth largest in England.
The reserve will include water, forest and mountains.

The revised draft National Planning Framework 4 (NPF4) includes developments which reduce carbon emissions to combat climate change and restore nature.
A proposal to enable more renewable energy generation outside of National Parks and National Scenic Areas is included, as is supporting emerging low-carbon and zero emissions technologies.
The plans include creating cycling and walking routes, low-carbon transport and more green spaces for play, culture and tourism.

A new National Cyber Advisory board has met to discuss how to promote and protect the UK's interests in cyberspace. They also discussed how to combat cyber threats.
The meeting was co-chaired by the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, Oliver Dowden, and Chief Information Officer at Lloyds Banking Group, Sharon Barber.
The Board aims to make the UK more secure and resilient against evolving threats, and protect the public against crime, fraud and hostile state threats. The board will meet every quarter.

Sir Gavin Williamson has resigned as a minister following allegations of bullying towards MPs and civil servants.
Texts to then-chief whip Wendy Morton were published in The Sunday Times, in which he warned her not to push him about and said: "there is a price for everything".
A civil servant also told the Guardian, that Sir Gavin had told them to slit their throat and jump out of the window during his time as defence secretary.
His former deputy, Anne Milton, also said he was threatening and intimidating when he was chief whip.
