The Mayor of London has announced that every primary school pupil in the city will get free school meals next academic year.
Sadiq Khan has launched a one-off £130 million emergency scheme to help Londoners with the cost of living.
Free school meals will be available for every primary school child from September. It is expected the scheme will save families around £440 per child over the year.

The funding will be allocated to the Met and Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime with the intention to tackle drug supply lines, provide further training to leaders and line managers in the Met, and boost the work of the Violence Reduction Unit in an approach to tackling violence that is rooted in prevention and early intervention.

According to research by the County Councils Network (CCN) three quarters of councils are set to raise their council tax by the maximum amount in April.
The research found that 84 out of the 114 who have already published their 2023/34 budget proposals intend to raise council tax by the maximum 4.99 per cent. This applies to upper-tier councils with social care responsibilities.
The 4.99 per cent increase is made up of 2.99 per cent for general council tax and 1.99 per cent for the adult social care precept.

All major road building projects in Wales have been shelved due to environmental concerns. This includes the third Menai bridge and the red route in Flintshire.
The announcement follows a year-long review and is part of the Welsh Government's National Transport Plan.

She made the announcement at a news conference in Edinburgh.
Sturgeon became First Minister in November 2014, taking over from Alex Salmond, following the independence referendum and is now the longest-serving first minister of Scotland, as well as the first woman to hold the position.
She became a member of the Scottish Parliament in 1999 and deputy leader of the SNP in 2004.
She will remain in office until a successor is elected.

The Scottish Government has announced £105 million of funding for the Charitable Bond scheme to increase the number of affordable homes in Scotland.
The scheme provides loans to social landlords, the interest on which is then reinvested into the social rented sector as grants.
£80 million has already been committed in this financial year, with another £25 million announced today.
