Bristol City Council has signed a contract with council owned the Bristol Waste Company (BWC) to manage waste collection and disposal services in the region, as part of 10-year deal.
BWC initially temporarily took over the services in 2015, however a new long-term contract has now been agreed. It is hoped the services will help reduce littering and fly-tipping and increase recycling.
The council maintained that the new deal would be monitored against a number of goals and that it would also need to produce an annual business plan.
