Homes England has allocated funding from the Levelling Up Home Building Fund, to help bunnyhomes unlock new homes at the 14-acre John the Watchmaker’s Great Country Park in Bodmin, Cornwall.
According to Homes England, Bodmin has high housing demand, but small and medium sized housebuilders often find it difficult to secure funding through traditional lenders.
The project will provide 51 "affordable" homes, intended to enable more local people to stay close to their families and way of life. A quarter of the homes will also be accessible and adaptable.
There will also be 95 two, three and four-bedroom homes for sale, as well as 24 one and two-bedroom apartments for rent.
Christine Mann, Development Finance Senior Manager at Homes England, said: "The Watchmaker’s is an ambitious scheme of genuine placemaking, providing quality, well-designed affordable homes in central Bodmin.
"bunnyhomes is a highly respected housebuilder in the region, employing local trades and craftspeople, helping to boost the local economy. This funding will support its ambitious growth plans, which will hopefully give even more local people the opportunity of home ownership in the future."
