Bank holiday announced for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s State Funeral
A bank holiday has been confirmed for Monday 19 September, the date of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s State Funeral.
The bank holiday is to allow people to pay their respects to Her Majesty and commemorate Her reign, while marking the final day of the period of national mourning.
The bank holiday will take place across the UK and will operate the same way as other bank holidays.
Employers are encouraged to respond sensitively to requests from workers who wish to take time off.
