Vaughan Gething loses vote of no confidence

Welsh first minister Vaughan Gething has lost a vote of no confidence, but insisted he will not will resign.

Two Labour members were off sick at the time of the vote. 29 Senedd members voted in favour of the resolution and 27 voted against.

The Conservatives called the vote after Gething's leadership campaign received donations from a company owned by a man previously convicted of environmental offences.

Opposition leaders including those of the Conservatives and Plaid Cymru have called for him to go.
