Voters head to polls as general election begins

Voters across the country are heading to the polling stations today (4 July).

Polling stations opened and 7am and will close at 10pm, and will be followed by an exit poll suggesting the projected seats for the top five parties.

A variety of different politicans have been seen casting their votes, such as SNP leader John Swinney and Labour leader Kier Starmer. 

Government Business, as well as all other publications, are not permitted to report details of campaigning or election issues while polls are open on the day of the general election.
