Days into his new position, prime minister Rishi Sunak has had telephone calls with other world leaders.
On Thursday evening, he spoke to European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen and discussed the importance of the relationship between the UK and the EU, as well as the response to the invasion of Ukraine. They also spoke of what they have in common such as economic challenges and climate change.
The same evening, Sunak had a call with Irish Taoiseach Micheál Martin, where they also discussed the importance of their relationship, support for Ukraine and the Northern Ireland Protocol, as well as the current executive situation in Northern Ireland.
The day before, the prime minister spoke to US president Joe Biden, who congratulated Sunak on his new position, as well as Ukraine and Northern Ireland, the two leaders also discussed the upcoming G20 Summit in Indonesia.
Sunak has also spoken to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, where he emphasised the UK's support for Ukraine.
