Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, with the approval of His Majesty The King, has created four new government departments.
A new Department for Energy Security and Net Zero will be headed up by former Business Secretary Grant Shapps. The department has been tasked with securing the long-term energy supply, bringing down bills and halving inflation.
Former Culture secretary Michelle Donelan becomes the new Science Secretary, heading up the new Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, which will take over science and technology-focused activity previously managed by BEIS and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport.
A combined Department for Business and Trade will be led by Kemi Badenoch who becomes Business and Trade Secretary. It aims to support growth by backing British businesses at home and abroad, promoting investment and championing free trade.
