The Land Registry has launched a consultation on the proposed draft Local Land Charges Rules 2017.
Under the Infrastructure Act 2015 the responsibility for Local Land Charges will transfer from local authorities to the Land Registry, which will require additional legislation to implement the changes.
The consultation invites comments on the draft rules, which will provide a framework for how the Local Land Charges Register Service will work.

Customers expect to be able to access government information without delay or complication, and for a reasonable fee. With our track record for modernising land-related systems and our continually evolving digitisation programme, Land Registry is well placed to deliver the single, digital register for Local Land Charges information.”
