CIEH AI and Tech Conference: Empowering Efficient Services

In January 2025, the Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology announced a new ‘AI Opportunities Action Plan’ to encourage an increase in AI adoption across the UK. What will the Government’s plans for AI mean for local authority teams? How will emerging technologies affect environmental health services in the future?

On 4 July, the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) is hosting a new conference to bring environmental health professionals up to speed on plans for AI and emerging technologies within local authorities.

The online conference will explore opportunities for increased efficiencies, case studies and inspiration to support local authority teams in delivering smarter services.

Key sessions will examine the risks and rewards for local authorities using artificial intelligence. From helping scientists to detect foodborne illness outbreaks to targeting and identifying investigations, there will be an evaluation of the role AI could play in the future of public health.

Both CIEH members and non-members are invited to join the event for the latest guidance, case studies, and research into advances in technology and the impacts for local government.
