Squosh Compacting Company stands at the forefront of waste management innovation, pioneering the UK's first mobile compacting service tailored specifically for communal bins. Established in November 2023 and based in Manchester, Squosh is solving a common and persistent problem faced by many businesses and organisations: overflowing bins.
Our service is designed to increase the capacity of communal-sized bins by at least 50%, significantly reducing the frequency of waste collections required and, consequently, the associated costs. This not only addresses the financial burden of waste management but also tackles environmental concerns by minimising the carbon footprint of waste collection services. By reducing the number of trips needed by large refuse vehicles, we help lower overall emissions, contributing to a more sustainable future.
The unique aspect of Squosh’s offering lies in its mobility and adaptability. Traditional bin compactors are often stationary, requiring significant space and a constant power supply. In contrast, our mobile compacting service operates independently of mains electricity and is installed in the back of a vehicle. This flexibility allows us to service a wider range of locations, including those that are hard to access with larger vehicles. This mobile technology ensures that our compacting service can be utilised by a broader audience, from residential apartment blocks to commercial properties and care facilities.
As part of our growth strategy, we are expanding our reach through a network of franchisee partners across the UK. This franchise model not only helps us scale rapidly but also empowers local entrepreneurs to benefit from our proven business model. This network of franchisees allows us to maintain a strong local presence while expanding our national footprint.
Since launching in 2023, Squosh has won the prestigious award of Most Innovative Waste Management Solution of The Year 2023 and has been shortlisted for Most Innovative Business Idea of The Year 2024 and Black, Asian, Minority, Ethnic Business of The Year 2024.
In summary, Squosh Compacting Company is not just solving the immediate problem of overflowing bins; we are transforming waste management practices through innovation and sustainability. Our growing network of franchise partners ensures that our impact is felt across the UK, making waste management more efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly.
