Recycling information available on app in Ealing

Residents in Ealing can now use a new app to quickly and easily access all manner of information about recycling in the borough.

The London Borough of Ealing has unveiled the @Home app to allow residents to access information about the council’s rubbish and recycling collections, including details of rubbish and recycling services, collection dates, reminders for collections, information on what is and isn’t recyclable and recycling centre locations.

The app has been created by Agile Applications and costs councils £2,400 each year.

Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for transport environment and leisure, said: “The @Home recycling app provides a simple and quick way to do everything from checking your next collection date to finding out what household waste is recyclable.

“Ealing currently recycles more than half of its household waste, making it one of the top performing boroughs in London. We want to make it as easy as possible for local people to recycle and improve even more in the future. I encourage residents to go online and download the app to ensure they have all the information on their rubbish and recycling collections at the touch of a button.”
