Orkney Islands Council staff in GMB ballot
Staff working for Orkney Islands Council are considering a plan to take industrial action over pay proposals.
Members of the GMB union are being balloted on council proposals which involve implementing changes to payments for overtime and shift allowances.
The move is aimed at helping address an anticipated £9.5 million shortfall in the local authority's budget.
The council has maintained that no decisions have yet been made, and the plans are still at the consultation stage.
