Apprenticeship opportunities for Tower Hamlet youngsters

Young people in Tower Hamlets' can apply for an opportunity on the Mayor's 12-month Apprenticeship Programme.

The programme not only helps young people gain work experience and achieve a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ), but also helps the council develop a workforce that reflects the community.

Apprentices work towards an NVQ Level 2 in Business and Administration, and are paid to work 30 hours per week in departments across the council.

Applicants must live in the borough and be aged between 16 and 26 years old. They must have a grade ‘D’ or above in GCSE English and grade ‘E’ or above in GCSE Maths.

Mayor Lutfur Rahman said: "Helping local people into work is a priority and this scheme provides young people with a stepping stone into full-time employment."
