The team is managed by our Director of Procurement, Alan Heron, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply, with over 25 years' experience in procurement. Alan has extensive understanding of EU Procurement Legislation, Corporate Social Responsibility in the Supply Chain, Value Engineering and leading strategic change through procurement.

Our aim is to find quick thinking, innovative, and efficient ways for organisations to procure goods, works and services. Our Procurement Team are all working towards, or CIPS qualified allowing us to offer a wealth of experience across a wide variety of solutions.

Procurement isn’t always straight forward, it can be complex, time consuming and frustrating trying to find the right solution.

Given the uncertainty and unrelenting changes, challenges and negotiations with current affairs and the future outlook, it is now more important than ever to offer solutions that are innovative and flexible. We offer a number of free-to-join procurement solutions that bring together top suppliers, consultants and contractors.

Procurement Hub is a leading expert in frameworks and Dynamic Purchasing Systems (DPS). The DPS is not a new concept, however we have evolved it to create a platform that can move with the times and remain flexible whatever the situation or solution required.

How does it work?

A procurement framework agreement sets out the terms (e.g. pricing, quality, quantity) in advance so you always know where you stand. Individual contracts (known as ‘call-offs’), can be made throughout the agreement, which usually lasts a maximum of four years. Frameworks can be ideal if you need a long-term procurement agreement in place.

A Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) streamlines the procurement process, reducing time and resource requirements. It’s similar to a framework agreement, but new suppliers can join at any time - so there’s greater choice and flexibility.

We can help you decide whether a framework or DPS agreement is the right one for you. However some of our solutions use a bit of both.

All our suppliers are chosen for their high standards of service, proven track record and experience of working across the public sector. They're the same suppliers we use for our own services. If they're not good enough for us, we won’t recommend them.

We passionately strive to remain at the forefront of procurement requirements and processes. We challenge ourselves to meet the needs of our customers, in a way that can help future proof against the ever changing needs and demands that they are being faced with.

What’s the process?

There is a process in place which is designed to call-off from one of our solutions. We will remain in contact with you throughout the whole process and life of the contract.

1). Discuss your requirements with us. We’ll create a timeline for the call-off process, taking account of the two week setting up period, in-line with your requirements.

2). Consult with your internal teams to create all relevant invitation to tender documentation (ITT). We can help with appropriate templates if necessary.

3). Send ITT documentation to us for review and setting up of the tender on Due North (procurement portal).

4). Two week setting-up period.

5). Tender to run for relevant timescales.

6). Tender response evaluation.

7). Evaluation scores passed to Procurement Hub. We will issue a Contract Award Notice and arrange for all contract documentation to be signed.
